Bonnevills Rod & Custom Car Club

Peach Days Car Show 2006

Wow! What a Friday and Saturday we had the first part of September. We had the best weather we have had in about five years.

On Friday we held our Poker Run in Ogden leaving from John Watson Chevrolet on Wall Avenue. The run wander around to different businesses in the Ogden area winding up at Jim's Burgers on 1900 West. There were 70 vehicles that participated and all seemed to have a good time. We all did a bunch of bench racing and ate well at Jim's.

On Saturday we started early as usual with registration at 10th South and Main. At the park we had 780 vehicles on display for the day. The weather just couldn't have been better, plenty of sun with just a few clouds. Just perfect. Something for everyone to look at and wish they could take home. We had a great group of spectators. There were probably about 20,000 that came to look at all the cars.

J C Hackett was there to keep us entertained all afternoon. JC was able to do an interview with Dick Norse. He also did a presentation to Shirley England who was the girl that “Fun, Fun, Fun” by the Beach boys was written about. Yes it was about a young lady in Salt Lake City. It was cool to be there for all of that.

Our raffle ran all day with lots of people winning great prizes. We wish to thank our many sponsors who donated all the good stuff to give away at the raffle. Our grand Prize was won by Doug Allred. A special thanks to Checker Auto Brigham and Jensen Automotive Repair Ogden for their contributions to the 350 Chevy Grand Prize motor.

When the end of the day came we gave over 48 awards away in almost as many classes. Winners were as follows –

The Bonnevills Rod & Custom Car Club would like to thank all who participated. Without you it would not be the great show it is. We would also like to thank the Brigham City Chamber of commerce, Box Elder School District and the Brigham City Parks & Recreation Department. Without their help and support it would be most difficult to put on a show of the caliber we do.

Thanks to all who attended. See you next year.

Keep on kroozn,

Bruce (KR00ZR) Wood
