Adding a Second Icon to connect to the BrighamNET backup Servers.

CONFIGURE DIAL-UP NETWORKING FOR brigham.net

1. Close all programs and windows on your computer.
2. Double-click the My Computer icon.
3. Double-click on the Dial-Up Networking icon.
4. Double-click on the Make New Connection icon.
5. In the Make New Connection window, type brigham.net backup as the name of the computer to dial then click the Next button.
6. Type brigham.net's modem number -- 723-9554 then click the Next button.
7. Click the Finish button and an icon named brigham.net backup will appear in the Dial-Up Networking folder.
8. Use the Right mouse button and Single Click on the brigham.net backup icon, then select properties from the popup menu using the left mouse button.
9. Click the Configure button then click the Options tab.
10. Turn on "Bring Up Terminal Window AFTER dialing"

Click the OK button twice to close the configure window.
12. Click the server types tab.
13. Turn OFF all checkmarks except…

Enable Software compression     and

TCP/IP

Click the TCP/IP settings button
15. Click the button next to Specify name server addresses

Set primary DNS to 206.71.93.1

Set secondary DNS to 206.71.93.2

Click the Ok button to close the TCP/IP settings window.

Click the OK button to close the Brigham.net properties window.

DIALING in to BrighamNET with the backup icon
1.
Try your normal Connection first if the line is busy then …

2. Double click the My Computer Icon.

3. Double Click the Dial-up Networking Icon

4. Double Click the Brigham.net Backup Icon.

5. Click the Connect button and Connect to the Backup server

6. Type your Login when asked then press Enter
7. Type in your password when asked then press Enter.
8. When you see what appears to be garbage press the F7 key to continue.
9. Once the connection is made, minimize the window and start your web browser or email program.
