Connect to Brigham Net using Windows XP Home Edition

1. Click the Start button in the lower left corner and Select Run from the pop up menu.

2. Delete anything in the Run dialog box and then type inetwiz and click OK

3. Verify that you have a dot next to "Connect using my phone line"

4. Click the Next button.

5. Make sure the Area code is blank and enter the phone Number

6. Click the Advanced Button.

7. Change DNS Server address to "Always use the following"

8. In the Primary DNS Server box type 206.71.93.1

9. In the Secondary DNS Server box type 206.71.93.2

10. Click the Ok button.

11. Click the Next Button.

12. Type your brigham net username and password into the boxes then click Next.

Note: Password is Case Sensitive and will appear as dots as you type it.

13. Type brigham.net as the name for your connection then click Next.

14. Select No when asked to setup your email account then click Next.

15. Click Finish and you are done.

To connect to the internet find the icon for Internet explorer (The Blue e) and click it to start the program. Enter your username and password then click OK. Your computer should connect and then display your starting web page.

Setting Up Outlook Express to access your brigham.net E-mail.

1. Start Outlook Express by Double Clicking the Outlook Express Icon.
(If the setup wizard starts then jump to step 4)

2. In Outlook Express, click Accounts on the Tools pull down menu.

3. In the Internet Accounts dialog box, click the Add button, and then select Mail.

4. In the Display Name box, type the name you want others to see when you send a message, and then click Next.

5. In the E-mail Address box, type the e-mail address for the account you are using, it is your login name followed by @brigham.net Example username@brigham.net, and then click Next.

6. Our mail server is a POP3 server which is the default so don’t change this. Type mail.brigham.net in both the Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server boxes. Click the Next Button

7. Type your login name in the Account name box. (Do not include @brigham.net). Type your password in the Password box. Verify there is a checkmark in the save password box. If it is not there click on it to change it.

8. In the Internet Mail Account Name box, type a name to identify the mail account you are configuring. This is known as the "friendly" name for the account. Click Next. Outlook Express 5 will not ask for this information.

9. Click the connection type that you use to connect to the Internet, and then click Next. NOTE: This step does not apply to Outlook Express 5. Click "Use my phone line to connect," you are prompted to either create a new Dial-Up Networking connection or use an existing one. If Dial-Up Networking has been configured for your ISP, click "Use an existing dial-up connection," click the name for your Dial-Up Networking connection in the list, and then click Next.

10. Click Finish.
